AXIOM is a sci fantasy trick taker where the players represent “Channelers”, magic users of three different sources of power in a struggle to form the most Crystals of power in the game. Players do this by winning the “Struggle” or trick each turn, earning a fragment. When a player has three fragments they form one of the crystals exposed at the start of the game, taking control of it and triggering its one time affect.
They win the struggle by playing 2 cards from a hand of 10, drafted at the start of a round, simultaneously face down each turn. These cards will manipulate the game state by triggering spells, gaining the players points in one or more of the sources of power for later use and winning the struggle through sheer combined value of the cards revealed.
When the exposed crystals are controlled or the players would empty their hands after the 3rd draft, the game is over, the player controlling the most crystals being declared the winner. Depending on the source of power a Channeller has at that time they have either saved or destroyed their world.
