BG: Lords of Waterdeep (Women's Space)
Limited Capacity seats available

I love board games with multiple phases, lots of moving parts, and a plethora of opportunities to make decisions. This is why Lords of Waterdeep is one of my favorites.

"Waterdeep, the City of Splendors--the most resplendent jewel in the Forgotten Realms, and a den of political intrigue and shady back-alley dealings. In this game, the players are powerful lords vying for control of this great city. Its treasures and resources are ripe for the taking, and that which cannot be gained through trickery and negotiation must be taken by force!"

I am excited for you to join me for Intrigue and fun! Never played? No problem! I'm happy to teach you how. Sounds like a lot? The game sounds much harder than it is to play.

This game is for players aged 12+.

BG: Scythe (Women's Space)
Limited Capacity seats available

It is a time of unrest in 1920s Europa. The ashes from the first great war still darken the snow. The capitalistic city-state known simply as “The Factory”, which fueled the war with heavily armored mechs, has closed its doors, drawing the attention of several nearby countries.

Scythe is an engine-building game set in an alternate-history 1920s period. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. In Scythe, each player represents a character from one of five factions of Eastern Europe who are attempting to earn their fortune and claim their faction's stake in the land around the mysterious Factory. Players conquer territory, enlist new recruits, reap resources, gain villagers, build structures, and activate monstrous mechs.

BG: Oaxaca: Crafts of a Culture (W/Creator, Women's Space)

Among the many reasons Oaxaca (pronounced WA-HA-KA) is well known are its exquisite handicrafts. Drawing upon generations of tradition, as well as vast quantities of raw materials, many artists within this state in Southern Mexico dedicate their lives to perfecting their craft.

Oaxaca: Crafts of a Culture is a dice-rolling and engine-building card game where you and up to three friends assume the role of skilled Oaxacan handicraftsmen preparing to craft and sell art at a bustling tianguis in Oaxaca City. Will you reach a distinguished position with your exquisite craftsmanship, or are your crafts common for the culture?

If there is time and interest, will also teach Project Dreamscape.

Special Guest Meeple Lady teaches one of her favorite games!

Lisboa is a game about the reconstruction of Lisboa after the great earthquake of 1755.
On November 1, 1755, Lisbon suffered an earthquake of an estimated magnitude of 8.5–9.0, followed by a tsunami and three days of fires. The city was almost totally destroyed. The Marquis of Pombal — Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo — was the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and the King put him in charge of the reconstruction of Lisbon. The Marquis of Pombal gathered a team of engineers and architects and you, the players, are members of the nobility; members who will use your influence in the reconstruction and business development of the new city. You will work with the architects to build Lisbon anew, with the Marquis to develop commerce and with the King to open all the buildings, but the true reason you do all this is not for greatness or fame or even fortune, but for the most important thing of all in that time: wigs.
Lisboa is played on a real map of downtown Lisbon. During the planning of the downtown project, the type of business permitted in each street was previously determined. The economic motor is driven by the wealth of the royal treasure and this treasure is controlled by player actions during the game, making each game a totally different experience. The game ends after a fixed number of rounds and whoever gathers the most wigs by the end of the game wins.
Lisboa is played in rounds. Each round, all players play one turn. They may place one card on their display or replace one card from this display. During the game, players schedule hearings to get character favors, such as commerce, construction, and openings. The iconic buildings score the stores and stores provide income to the players. Players need to manage influence, construction licenses, store permits, church power, workers and money, with the workers' cost being dependent on the prestige of the players.
